'Good Afternoon Esteemed Colleagues,

After much anticipation, we received an unofficial announcement today that Hillside New Tech High has been selected as one of four Learning Laboratories in the state of North Carolina! I want to thank each of you for everything you do to make our school a great one. Your jobs are not easy, and sometimes praise and appreciation are scarce, but please know that your work is VALUED! We now have even more to do to ensure that we meet the expectations of our parents, students, DPS, the NC New Schools Project, and the New Technology Foundation. As a team, I am overly confident that we will exceed their expectations and become a model school for the nation. Remember, we have to “stretch” to reach for the stars.
